and Big Ideas
A walking club for every body
I've been a big fan of setting goals, intentions, and working on habits. But I have personally always struggled with the inevitable "achievement" part of the equation. And wondered why goal setting seemed so hard to figure out. I started an Accountability Club in the Spring of 2020, looking to hang out with other other goal-focused folks within a supportive environment, and push myself to achieve some goals. And it became so much more than that. In 2021 I want to take what we have learned, and make it even more helpful and relevant to folks who struggle with setting goals the traditional way because they don't have a traditional brain.
What to expect
I'd like to say "expect the unexpected", but that feels very cliche! There aren't any high pressure sales, or A-type personalities here. We like to encourage growth on your own terms, learning and pushing your limits, and soft as possible landings when shit happens.
We start every walk with a Land Acknowledgment & quick introductions ("Hi my name is Lisa, I use she/her pronouns and I've lived in Ritchie for one year!)
We set the pace by our slowest walker
All ages, mobility types, genders, and family types are welcome!
There is no set route for the walk...we go where the sunbeams chase us (that's so lame! and sweet right?!)
Other Things to Note
We will be taking all necessary precautions to best prevent the spread of COVID in our Group.
- Masks will be encouraged, but not required as long as folks can properly distance themselves
- 6ft/2m distancing will be required between non-family groups/bubbles/cohorts
- We will take a quick attendance at the beginning of our walk for contact tracing (contact info will not be used for any other purpose)
